Derek reports: Yet another great run by Tom! Running in the BMC Grand Prix event at Sportcity, Manchester on Saturday afternoon Tom started in a heat in which he had the slowest PB of the 10 entrants. He started in lane 1 behind the pacemaker, followed him for a first lap of 54 and then ran clear of the field to finish in 1.48.95. Not only a new PB, this is currently this year’s world leading time for an U18! Then, shortly after recovering from his run, Tom received the Dave Cropper award for the most outstanding 800m boy’s performance of 2023.
