17/08/2008  RR Champs - Thorney 5 Mile
12 runners represented Hunts A.C in this 5 mile out and back flat road race, running in warm conditions and with a slight head breeze on the way back. 260 runners completed the course. Results as follows:

30/07/2008  RR Champs - Peterborough 5k - Werrington
A hot humid evening saw 5 Hunts A.C runners complete the last race of the Peterborough 5k series. Results as follows. 37th Shane Hunt 18:51, 39th Sean Barker 18:55, 148th David Hetherington 24:14, 157th Diane Gannon 24:42, 161st Hilary McConville 24;56.   Further Info

20/07/2008  St Ives 10k
Over 1000 people were at the outdoor centre this Sunday for this year’s annual 10k organised by the club members. With a record 642 10k entrants, 148 for the fun run, and many spectators the pressure was on to host a quality event. The weather was ideal for running, as proved by the amount of cups and water left over compared to previous years. 142 runners finished the 3k fun run, which started and finished on the track.

Congratulations to Junior members James Downing for winning U13 boys prize in 10:39 and finishing 3rd overall. Also, to Bethany Bainbridge for winning the U15 girls prize in 12:57.

In the 10k race Andrew Hennessy from Wells City Harriers won in 33:04 and first Lady was Tamara Jordan from Stowmarket Striders in 37:32.

This year the club entered both a Male and Female team with the aim of winning the team prizes.

The ladies team represented by Davina Lowe, Claire Brown, Jackie Wren and Julia Mcintosh won the Ladies team prize. Also Davina Lowe won the F25-29 prize finishing in 40:59.

A number of club juniors completed there first ever 10k race, including young Christopher Smith finishing in 20th in 37:51, Liam Witten in 41st in 39:58, and finally Sammie Skinner who won the F15-19 prize finishing in 48:20.

Sunday 24th August (the Bank Holiday weekend); 3.30-7.00pm at Outdoor Centre (following on from the Club Championships) This is a new event for all Club members in our annual social calendar. At the moment we haven't fixed the price or designed the tickets so at this stage just make a note of the date in your diaries. Your 2008 Social Committee is always looking for volunteers to help with organising events so please contact Penny Butcher (penny.butcher@watermeadow.com) if you have any ideas for future social events or would like to help out with volunteering at social events.   Further Info

15/07/2008  Frostbite Friendly Cross Country League 2008/09 Details
The Frostbite Friendly League 2008-09 held its AGM on July 6th. Main points from the meeting were:
We will continue to score 3 ladies and 7 men. All of the current clubs are remaining in the League and no new clubs have applied to join. To celebrate the League’s 20th year a spot prize of a shoe bag will be given to all those who run 4 or more races. All runners (both senior and junior) MUST wear club colours and will be disqualified if they do not. Hunts AC announced they would be hosting a new race at Hinchingbrooke Park – more details soon.
