Welcome to Huntingdonshire Athletics Club (Hunts AC)

Based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, Hunts AC embraces the England Athletics equal opportunities/sports equity policy and welcomes all members of the community from the ages of 9 and upwards. We cater for all levels, whether you are a budding athlete or an experienced Junior or Senior competitor, an all-rounder or a specialist, a recreational five-miler or a veteran of a dozen marathons.     19/08/2018  Kimbolton Half Marathon  details

    Ty Farrer reports: Despite strong winds and a hilly course, some excellent results for the club today! Despite just returning from holiday, Nick Osborne led the club home in the main event with an excellent 1:18:43 for 11th place. Just to show that the rest worked well - Nick also picked up the Gold EMAC MV35 medal as well! Ty Farrer was next home in 1:20:12 for 14th and picked up the Bronze EMAC MV40 medal. A strong debut for Arseniy Suvorov in 1:38:04 to finish 89th and looked remarkably fresh at the end! Ieva Klavina finished 13th female (111th overall) and was the first lady back in 1:40:01 and also picked up the Gold EMAC FV35 as well, closely followed by Caroline King 15th female (115th overall) in 1:40:30 - who also picked up a Gold EMAC FV40 medal! Sasha Suvorov completed the team finishing in 2:20:12, 149th Female & 436th overall. In the fun run, Ciaran Burke finished 3rd overall and 2nd U15M despite only just returning from injury and Caitlan Burke also matched her brothers performance by finishing 2nd U13F (14th Overall) to make it a successful day out for the Burke family!

    Contesting the Cambridgeshire 5-mile county championships held within the Thorney 5, Hunts AC runners picked up four county titles: M50 Sean Barker 30:38 M60 Bruce Grimley 33:49 W55 Pauline Stocker 39:26 W65 Hilary McConville 46:03 13 Sean Barker 30:39 (1st M50), 36 Bruce Grimley 33:50 (1st M60), 46 Kelly Crawford 34:56 (1st SW), 71 Jim Stocker 36:35, 75 David Spurle 36:57, 98 Adrian Smith 39:11, 105 Pauline Stocker 39:26 (1st W55), 107 Amy Steele 39:33, 109 Bryan Nylander 39:47, 123 Lizzie Burgess 41:57, 159 Hilary McConville 46:03 (1st W65), 169 Di Gannon 47:38 (3rd W60)

    Richard Rowell reports: Leon Rowell 100mtrs – 12:5 (it was blowing a gale) – fastest time of the day. Long Jump – 5.13 PB (1st) 300 mtrs – 41:00 PB (2nd) – never ran this distance before and was in the outside lane. Fastest U15B this year for Hunts AC.

    15/08/2018  Barney 5k  details

    Alan Burgin reports: There was a small but perfectly formed band of Hunts AC athletes at Ferry Meadows for the Barney Memorial 5k race on Wednesday 15th August. The race is the County 5k championship and also part of the Cambs Road Race League. In all, there were 199 finishers in this race with Hunts AC completing the race as follows; 69th Ieva Klavina 21m14s 71st Kelly Crawford 21m15s 88th Jim Stocker 22m09s 110th Caroline King 23m25s 111th Adrian Smith 23m31s 124th Pauline Stocker 24m16s 126th Phil Young 24m19s 150th Georgia Hill 26m24s 163rd Hilary McConville 27m34s Bruce Grimley and Alan Burgin were there as well but not running, instead they were in charge of vocal support/abuse as appropriate (it was always vocal support; well, that's how I remember it anyway).
